Bamboo Painting Workshop:
Saturday, January 20, 9:30 am – 1:00 pm

Paint a piece of bamboo with bright colors and bold patterns for your garden with Anita Prentice and Ginny Piech Street.

Birding in the Garden:

Eva Ries, an Advanced Florida Master Naturalist through the University of Florida’s Florida Master Naturalist Program, will take visitors through the property for bird viewing and discussion. Free for members; $8 Garden admission for nonmembers

The Art of Hypertufa With Dr. Kendra Brown:
Saturday, January 27, 9:30 am -11:00 a.m.

Learn how to make original art for your garden. Hypertufa planters are light-weight rustic pots made from Portland cement and other materials such as peat moss and vermiculite or perlite. Porous Hypertufa pots are great for planting. They look like limestone, but are surprisingly light compared to pottery. With Hypertufa, you can make your own pots for your garden.

3rd Annual Heathcote’s Garden of Lights Holiday Festival:
Friday and Saturday evenings from Thanksgiving weekend through Christmas

Enjoy a Kaleidoscope of lights, get a photo with Heathcote the bear, visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus, refreshments & musical entertainment.

Bonsai Clinic – Third Saturday of Every Month

Lead by our Bonsai Curator Seth Nelson, learn the art of Bonsai in this interesting series of workshops.
Free for members, $10 + admission for non-members.

Fresh for Kids Second Saturday of Every Month (June-September)

Our new Fresh For Kids program is designed to engage multiple generations in Heathcote Botanical Garden’s mission of education and the conservation of green space. These classes are the perfect opportunity for kids to have a creative experience in the garden and are held the second Saturday of every month, June – September.

Friends and Family Third Thursdays of every month (June-September)

Extended hours until 7 p.m.
Reduced Admission pricing after 4:00 pm $5 for non-members, free for members.
Enjoy an evening in the garden; learn about upcoming events and volunteer opportunities.

A Walk in the Garden

Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. Curator/Head Gardener Miriam Charles or docent share highlights of the plant galleries of Heathcote. Garden Admission (free to members). *January – May.

Conversational Spanish: a cultural immersion

Fridays, 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. beginners welcome.

Ambassadors: Second Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.

Spread the Word about Heathcote! Recruit new volunteers, lead a tour, staff a booth at community events, and speaker’s bureau.

Propagators & Horticulture helpers

Wednesday mornings 9:00 am – noon. Play in the dirt and help maintain the Gardens for all to enjoy. Bring your lunch and enjoy sharing your favorite gardening stories with other nature enthusiasts who make a difference at Heathcote.

Heathcote Helping Hands

1st Monday of the month, 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm. Do you have a passion for arts & crafts? A talent to share, or do you enjoy socializing with a dedicated group of dynamic women, whose talents support the Garden Gift Shop? Call 772.464.4672 for more information.
