Everyone enjoyed themselves learning to make Hypertufa Pots with Dr. Kendra Brown on May 1st, 2015. Hypertufa planters are light-weight rustic pots made from Portland cement and other materials such as peat moss and vermiculite or perlite. Porous Hypertufa pots are great for planting. They look like limestone, but are surprisingly light compared to pottery.
Heathcote Botanical Gardens will host the Bud & Dot Adams Present the 2015 Treasure Coast Garden of Lights holiday illumination beginning Friday November 27th 2015. The event will run every weekend evening until early January 2016.
Volunteers today are engaged in the design and construction of the light flowers that will highlight the display. Totally unique to the Treasure Coast area, it is expected that thousands of visitors will visit during the first and subsequent years. Hundreds of “flowers” are needed and shown to the right are 11 volunteers engaged in that effort. Additional volunteers are always welcome to assist with this event.
Please call 772-464-4672 or email firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions or to volunteer.
We are also looking for individuals or businesses to sponsor various areas of the garden. Please callRobin at 772-464-4672 to discuss the various levels of sponsorships.
To the left is the “puddle” which is just a hint of the “pond” to come!
Creativity was displayed on April 18th, 2015 when the Painted Bamboo Workshop with Anita Prentice and Ginny PiechStreet was held at the garden. Participants painted a piece of bamboo with bright colors and bold patterns to take home for their own garden.
We all had a wonderful day on Saturday, April 4th making our own Easter floral arrangement. Rebecca Meuse showed us how easy it can be to create a beautiful arrangement and everyone went home with a floral display for their Easter tables.
On Saturday April 11 and Sunday April 12 we held our annual Spring Garden Sale where plants, flowers, supplies, garden tools, art work and much more were available for purchase. And on Saturday morning there was a plant giveaway to all members. Lots of fun for the entire family!
The 5th Annual Bonsai Ball, held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, was a tremendous success. The weather was beautiful, the food was delicious and everyone had a great time. Our sincere thanks to all the folks who donated their time, their money and items for the silent and live auctions, helping to make this event the success that it was. Special thanks to all the volunteers who worked so hard, both prior and during the event.
